Futures Week, an exciting new programme designed to inspire and encourage young people interested in pursuing a career in the aviation industry, is starting at London Biggin Hill Airport.
This inaugural week-long event is part of the airport’s ‘Unite to Inspire’ programme and will provide 14 young people, aged between 14 and 18 years old, the opportunity to experience the many roles available in aviation.
The students will be taking part in a variety of hands-on activities and immersive visits, as well as going behind the scenes at the airport.
They will also meet with inspirational professionals from the airport’s thriving business community of 70 resident aviation companies to receive advice about how to pursue a career within the aerospace industry.
Hannah Gray, STEM Ambassador at London Biggin Hill Airport, says: “As a leading centre for aviation technology and enterprise, and an important employer in the local community, it is vital we showcase the many career opportunities available both at London Biggin Hill and within the wider aviation industry.
“As these young people begin to think about their future, we look forward to introducing them to the different career paths on offer at one of Europe’s fastest-growing business aviation airports and hope it inspires them to become part of the next generation of aviation professionals.”
