During the COVID-19 lockdown, the development and technical team at GetJet were hard at work, enhancing not only the products but the usability of the GetJet marketplace itself. Prior to the world being halted by the Global Pandemic, GetJet saw an opportunity in adding Jet Sharing. This would allow people that normally fly Business or First class an opportunity to experience the difference when travelling on a Business Jet. This service of course has now been magnified with the current lack of scheduled commercial flights as well as the fear of COVID-19.
Since the Jet Sharing product was launched in April, we certainly saw the demand increase through to July by a staggering 254%. We also have seen a remarkable increase in the demand for charter flights of 248% during the same period April to July. This shows that the GetJet Marketplace is gaining traction and becoming popular not only due to current travel restricted conditions, but also due to the fact that we are giving people what they want – simplicity and convenience when requesting a service.
GetJet is positioning itself as a cross-tool platform that brings together business aviation brokers, operators and travel agents as well as Direct customers for its Jet Sharing products. “It's nice to know that the product is increasing in demand, and professional market participants treat us with greater confidence. The variety of flight formats certainly plays an important role here. GetJet currently has three jet sharing formats: Shuttles, Sharing and Deals.

- SHARING – A flight that someone initiates on a desired date and route and they would like GetJet to simply assist by gathering potential travel companions.
- DEALS - A client books a business jet and wishes to sell a few seats, so that they can reduce their cost, whilst the accompanying travellers can benefit from not having to pay as much if they were to book their own individual business jet.
