Flight Attendants wellbeing supported with new industry-changing collaboration

This month, Flight Attendant wellbeing platform The Crew Collective, announced an industry-changing collaboration with non-profit Mental Health and suicide prevention organisation, We are Hummingbird.

The Crew Collective, founded in September 2020, supports Flight Attendants worldwide with a dedicated wellbeing platform openly providing individuals with resources to support them both personally and professionally.

Emily Webb, Crew Collective Co-Founder, says: “We are honored to be working with We are Hummingbird to offer the Flight Attendant community an array of free wellbeing resources to support mental health.

“Our aim is to help individuals to recognise and understand that mental wellbeing is just as important as physical wellbeing and maintaining both is vital to staying fit and healthy.”

Together, We are Hummingbird and The Crew Collective aim to educate Flight Attendants with jargon-free, easy to digest webinars, chats, aviation-specific workbooks and access to courses which will provide essential hints, tips and ideas to support good mental health.

“We are really excited to be working with The Crew Collective to help Flight Attendants understand more about Mental Health and suicide prevention.” says Ian Hurst, We are Hummingbird.

“Our mission is to ensure the distance between being alone and having a person to talk to is as short as physically possible and to create a global community where people can achieve the strength and confidence they need to communicate openly”.

Rebecca Spinks, Crew Collective Co-Founder, comments: “It’s fantastic to see so many fellow Flight Attendants returning to the skies following such a tough year, but now more than ever our community needs support.

“There are so many new challenges within the role such as PPE requirements, hotel isolation and quarantine which can contribute to feeling stressed and lonely. Our mission is to inspire genuine change within our society and to make wellbeing a priority by providing relevant resources which champion self-care whilst on and off duty.

“We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from Operators, FBO’s and other Aviation organizations in helping us to reach Flight Attendants worldwide”.
