FAI Technik, a provider of MRO services, has successfully completed a 7,800 landings’ inspection on a Bombardier Challenger 604, marking a significant milestone in its maintenance capabilities.
This inspection, one of the most comprehensive and rare procedures performed on the airframe, underscores FAI Technik’s expertise and dedication to delivering high-quality maintenance solutions for executive aircraft. The 7,800 landings’ inspection, achieved in over 6000 manhours, required extensive disassembly of the aircraft. Components including the engines, fuel tanks, APU, thrust reversers, and flight controls were removed for detailed non-destructive testing (NDT) such as X-ray, ultrasonic, eddy current, and magnetic inspection.
In addition to the inspection, FAI Technik performed a full cabin refurbishment, elevating the existing unique 18-passenger configuration to new standards of elegance and functionality. This layout, highly demanded by customers, now features enhanced superior comfort, making it ideal for larger groups seeking a premium travel experience.
To further improve the aircraft’s operational capabilities, FAI Technik also installed a state-of-the-art SwiftBroadband (Aviator 350) Satcom system, offering seamless connectivity for passengers and crew.
Michael Axtmann, Managing Director of FAI Technik said: “Performing a 7,800 landings’ inspection is a complex and rare undertaking. I am proud of our team for their exceptional performance in delivering this project on time and to the satisfaction of our customer. Our ability to execute such intricate tasks reflects the unparalleled expertise of the team and the investments we’ve made in our MRO capabilities.”
