The Single Engine Turboprop Operations Conference, better known as SETOps, is set to return next April 2023 after a six year hiatus as part of a wider conference programme contained within AERO Friedrichshafen, Germany, the premier European trade show for general aviation.
Original creators Emerald Media and BlueSky News have teamed up with the General Aviation Manufacturers’ Association (GAMA) and organisers of AERO 2023 for a day-long event. To be held on Friday April 21st, the 2023 edition will extend to small airfields, recognising the vitally important, and often overlooked, role they play in supporting these aircraft.
“Over the past few years concern has been growing over regulations that continue to restrict the growth of commercial general aviation operations, which are also adversely impacted by threats of small airfield closures. As our industry begins to move into a new era of urban air mobility, SETOps can be a trailblazer for the sector to set the regulatory framework and get the access right for Europe,” said Kyle Martin, vice president European Affairs, GAMA. “GAMA is pleased to partner with Emerald and team to promote this conference at AERO, which is a big fixture on the industry’s calendar.”
SETOps events in 2016 and 2017 were previously hosted in the UK at London Oxford Airport and the Royal Aeronautical Society, attended by 120-plus international delegates.
“We see at first–hand how these aircraft deliver great benefits for their business and leisure passengers from our home at Fairoaks Airport in Surrey. It took the return of face-to-face meetings this year, initially with GAMA at Farnborough Air Show, then EBACE with AERO Friedrichshafen director Tobias Bretzel, then all together at NBAA to determine SETOps 2023,” said Emerald Media principal Alison Chambers.
“We are very proud to welcome the SETOps Conference at AERO Friedrichshafen next year. There are a lot of topics related to SETOps which need to be aired after the long pandemic break. AERO will be the perfect host platform to bring all involved parties from industry, operators and regulators together on April 21st 2023,” said Tobias Bretzel, show director, AERO Friedrichshafen.
