Week 42 Records Busiest Week in Last 12 Months

Week 42 was our busiest in the last 12 months with over 81,000 departures, we’re now at 26 consecutive weeks of growth and it seems to just keep going. North America topped 60,000 flights for the week, which is impressive, and Africa’s been on fire with 30%+ growth two weeks in a row. NBAA brought almost 400 extra flights to Vegas on top of the usual traffic, which shows you how much these big industry events still matter.

Executive Summary

In Week 42 (13 – 19 October), global bizjet activity reached 81,471 departures, up 5% versus Week 42 of 2024, and marking the busiest week in the last 12 months. On a rolling last four-week basis (W39 – W42), global business jets have accumulated more than 316,000 departures, a 6% increase compared to the same period last year. This four-week trend of 6% outperforms the global year-to-date (1 Jan – 19 Oct) trend of 5%.

The streak shows no signs of stopping: 26 consecutive weeks of year-on-year growth. Out of the 42 weeks so far in 2025, 39 posted gains, with the biggest surge of 13% in Week 37, and the largest decline of 4% in Week 1.

Regional Performance Analysis

North America: Region surpasses 60,000 weekly departures

The North American market recorded 7% more activity in W42 2025 vs W42 2024, with total departures reaching above 60,000. The U.S. accounted for 97% of these North America flights in Week 42, driving the region’s 7% increase in traffic. Among key states, California led growth with 8% more bizjet activity W42 this year vs last, while Florida and Texas both notched 4% gains. North America’s rolling four-week trend now sits at 6% ahead of the comparable period in 2024. Among the key states, Florida leads the four- week trend at 10%, Texas following behind at 6%, and California at 4%. These four-week trends compare to each states’ year-to-date growth trajectories of 5%, 6%, and 4% respectively.

Europe: France and Switzerland weigh down regional performance

The European market realized a 1% contraction in Week 42 2025 vs W42 2024. On a country level, the UK and Italy realized some growth in business jet activity, flights increasing 7% and 5% respectively. Germany saw the least of the declines for top countries, -3% year-on-year, while both France and Switzerland recorded notably losses, -9% and -11% respectively. Over the last four weeks, European activity has totaled over 46,000 flights, reflecting modest 3% growth.

Rest of World: Africa leads for second consecutive week at 31%

Week 42 bizjet activity saw varied growth trends in emerging markets outside of North America and Europe. Africa led ROW growth for a 2nd consecutive week with 31%, while South America also showed notable gains at 19%. The Middle East saw solid growth with 7%, while Asia was the lone region to realize declines, -7% vs W42 2024.

NBAA-BACE generates strong Las Vegas traffic

NBAA-BACE drew aviation professionals from around the world to Las Vegas last week, generating significant business jet activity across the city’s three airports. McCarran International, Henderson Las Vegas, and North Las Vegas recorded 995 combined business jet departures from 13 – 17 October, representing a 14% increase from the 871 flights during the comparable 2024 convention period.

The convention’s impact becomes clear when comparing these figures to typical Las Vegas weekday activity. Through Week 41, Las Vegas airports averaged 616 business jet departures during standard Monday – Friday periods, meaning NBAA-BACE generated approximately 379 additional flights beyond normal operations, demonstrating the event’s continued importance as a driver of business aviation activity.
