ACJ: Analysis of Industry Data Reveals Strong Growth of US Business Aviation Market

Analysis of industry data by Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) shows a strong recovery in the U.S. business aviation market.

The latest data illustrates the number of business aircraft departures in the U.S. in June was 14.4% higher than in the same month in 2019. January, February, March, April and May 2022 saw increases of 9.3%, 13.7%, 17.7%, 15.1% and 11.7%, respectively, compared to the same months in 2019.

Overall, the analysis reveals there were around 2.07 million business aircraft departures in the first six months of this year, 13.7% higher than for the same period of 2019.

Business aircraft flights within North America were up 14.4% in June compared to the same month in 2019, and the corresponding figures for flights from the U.S. to Latin America and to Europe are 17.8% and 17.3% higher, respectively.

ACJ offers a range of large business aircraft, the latest of which is the ACJ TwoTwenty, which launched in October 2020, creating a whole new market segment ‘The Xtra Large Bizjet.’

When looking at the top 10 airports for business aircraft departures in the U.S., all saw big increases in June, in particular for larger business jets. Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles saw a rise of 35.6% in large business aircraft departures when compared to the same month in 2019, and the corresponding figures for Centennial Airport in Denver, and Dallas Love Field Airport in Dallas, are 32.8% and 31.5%, respectively.

“As the world recovers from the worst of the COVID-19 crisis, the global business aviation market is enjoying a strong recovery, and we are certainly seeing this in the U.S., said Sean McGeough, VP Commercial ACJ for North America.

He added, “The number of business aircraft departures in America is up, and the utilization of private jets registered here is also rising. The business aviation sector also continues to see strong levels of innovation with new aircraft being launched and a growing focus on sustainability. This will contribute to further market growth.”

The ACJ TwoTwenty offers unbeatable economics and unrivaled reliability at the same price as ultra-long-range business jets. It occupies the same parking space as competing business.
