Dubai South, the city’s newest development, has recently broken ground on the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub, which will be home to a state-of-the-art hangar facility for helicopters.
This new development marks another step forward in Dubai’s efforts to become a leading player in the aerospace industry, with the aim of positioning itself as a hub for both commercial and general aviation.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub is named after the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The hub is a part of the Dubai South development, which is designed to be a fully-integrated city and will eventually house over one million residents.
The new hangar facility for helicopters is expected to be one of the largest and most advanced in the world, with the capacity to accommodate multiple helicopters at a time. The facility will offer a range of services, including maintenance, repair, and overhaul, as well as hangar storage. The hangar facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including the latest in safety and security systems. This will ensure that helicopters are maintained and stored in the safest and most secure environment possible.
In addition to the hangar facility, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub will also include a number of other facilities, including a general aviation terminal, a commercial aviation terminal, and a cargo terminal.
These facilities will allow Dubai South to serve as a hub for both general and commercial aviation, as well as a hub for cargo operations.
