North American business aviation flight activity has stabilized this Summer as we approach the end of June. Week over week we observed a 1.4% decrease in flights and a 0.2% decrease in flights year over year.

Business aviation flight activity across North America increased across the board from the previous week. The busiest day of the month so far was observed on Wednesday, June 16th with over 11450 flights observed.

Finishing out the first full week of June 2022, business aviation flight activity is up 1.23% in North America and 33.6% in Europe from this time last year.

Memorial Day weekend saw a 1.8% increase in North American business aviation flight activity year over year (FRI MAY 27 – MON MAY 30 2022 vs FRI MAY 28 – MON MAY 31 2021). On Memorial Day we saw a 3.7% decrease in flight activity year over year, which indicates increased participation in the holiday weekend.

Trends in North American business aviation flight activity continue to track upwards as we navigate through various economic challenges. Flight activity for the third week of May is up 16.5% from 2019 pre-pandemic levels and up 11.4% year over year from 2021.

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) published the First Quarter 2022 General Aviation Aircraft Shipment and Billing Report. The aircraft manufacturing industry’s results for the first three months of 2022, when compared to the same period in 2021, point to increasing aircraft unit deliveries across each aircraft segment while the overall value of the aircraft shipments was slightly lower.
